Steven Fisher

February 28, 1959 - October 3, 2018

Steve Fisher, 59, of Oskaloosa died at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born February 28, 1959, in Oskaloosa, the son of Charles W. and Anna Belle Sheetz Fisher. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1977. Early on Steve worked as a cook at the old Chief Mahaska and Playtime Supper Club in Oskaloosa. In 1979, his ability to work full time was limited due to an accident. He kept a positive attitude throughout his recovery. Eventually he was well enough to go to work at Wigg’s in Oskaloosa. He worked there until the store closed. He enjoyed his dogs and cheering for Iowa Hawkeye Athletics. He and his brother Charlie enjoyed a lifetime of looking after each other. His family includes his two brothers, Charlie D. Fisher and Dennis (Karen) Fisher all of Oskaloosa; a nephew, Andrew Fisher of Parker, Colorado; a niece, Amy Fisher and her daughter Scarlett of Oskaloosa; an aunt, Mary Morris of Eaton, Colorado; and many cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. As was Steve’s wish his body has been cremated and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
