Linda Reighard Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Linda Reighard, 77, of Rio Hondo, Texas and Oskaloosa, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at her home in Rio Hondo. She was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on October 18, 1943, the daughter of Marion and Hazel Brom VanderLinden. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1961. On August 20, 1971, she was united in marriage to Garry Reighard at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Following their marriage, Linda stayed home to care for family and home. In 2003, Linda and Garry moved back to Oskaloosa and Linda took care of her mother until her passing. She was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family includes her husband, Garry Reighard of Rio Hondo, Texas and Oskaloosa; two children and their spouses, M. Curtis (Linda) Reighard of Iowa Falls and Wendy (David) Kenyon of Wichita, Kansas; three grandchildren, Skylar Reighard, Chance Reighard, and Dakota Reighard; a brother, Marion Vanderlinden of Perry, Iowa; and a half sister, Donna Lehman in Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Paul VanderLinden; and a stepsister, Norma Tucker. As was Linda’s wish her body has been cremated and no services are planned. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to MHP Hospice.
