Holly Terpstra

November 22, 1982 - March 20, 2022

Holly Terpstra, 39, of Oskaloosa died suddenly at the MHP Emergency Room in Oskaloosa. She was born November 22, 1982, in Mahaska County the daughter of Hershell and Marilyn Fox Beadle. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 2001. While in high school she worked at the Oskaloosa YMCA in childcare and as a lifeguard she was active with Upward Bound through Central College. She went on to attend Central College in Pella. In 1999, she took a job as a cashier at Wal-Mart. She took opportunities that Wal-Mart offered her to advance and went on to become the Customer Service Manager, then traveled around the country doing store planning, currently she was the assistant manager at the Wal-Mart in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed her 23 years at Wal-Mart and thought of many of her co-workers as family. On April 28, 2012, she was united in marriage to Wesley Terpstra at the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds in Oskaloosa. To this union two boys were born, Cooper and Cameron. Holly loved music, especially country music. She always looked forward to the next concert adventure. She also enjoyed following NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne, going to scary movies with her aunt, and anything Kenny Chesney. She loved kids and adored her own children. Her family includes her husband of nearly ten years, Wesley Terpstra of Oskaloosa; two sons, Cooper Terpstra and Cameron Terpstra both at home; two step daughters, whom she loved as her own, Emma Terpstra and Kami Terpstra both of Newton; her mother and step father, Marilyn and Calvin Visser of University Park; her father, Hershell Beadle of Noble, Oklahoma; two brothers, Chris (Cindy) Beadle of Beacon and Brad (Ilma) Beadle of Agency; a half-brother, Preston Visser of University Park; her grandfather, John Beadle of Oskaloosa; father and mother in law, Steve and Beth Terpstra of Oskaloosa; sister in law, Heather (Scott) Gilroy of Cedar Falls; grandmother in law, Jane Ann Terpstra of Oskaloosa; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers. She was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, James Ray Beadle; grandparents, Judy Beadle, Thelma Slechta, and William “Buddy” Fox; and an infant. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Marvin Knoot officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will open Thursday after 12 noon in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-8 Thursday evening to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the family for the children.
