October 2, 1975 - June 2, 2022

Delia Vance, 46, of Pella, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, in Jasper County, Iowa, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born October 2, 1975, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Linda (Fowler) Greer. She attended school in Oskaloosa and later attended high school in Cedar Falls. She returned to Oskaloosa and received her GED. Delia then furthered her education at Indian Hills Community College, receiving a diploma of Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeping. On September 15, 1996, she was united in marriage to Jason Vance in Mahaska County. To this union two children were born, Katelyn and Ethan Vance. Delia held various jobs over the years. Over the last 3 years she was working for YES! Communities in Altoona. Delia was baptized at the Good News Chapel in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed crocheting, watching the Minnesota Vikings football games and soap operas, especially Days of Our Lives. She also enjoyed attending concerts, both rock and country music, planting flowers, baking/cooking, buying her family and friends gifts and getting her hair and nails done. Above all else, her family was the center of her life, and she loved the time she got to spend with them. Delia is survived by her husband, Jason Vance of Pella; her two children, Ethan Vance of Pella and Katelyn Vance of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Isaiah, Everson and Ayson; her mother, Linda (John) Van Polen of Fremont; her father, Richard Greer of Waterloo; three sisters, Carrie Sease of Ankeny, Amanda Greer of Oskaloosa and Genevieve Greer of What Cheer; a brother, Daniel Lockett of Moriarty, New Mexico; her step-siblings, Pete (Joellen) Van Polen, Ron (Barb) Van Polen, Tim (Bobbie Jo) Van Polen, Steven (Desiree) Van Polen and Susan Van Polen. She is also survived by her beloved dogs, Millie and Zak and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, a sister-in-law, Brandy Taylor, a niece, Nikkole Taylor and her beloved precious cats and dogs. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with pastor Jason Larson officiating. The family requests those attending the service to wear purple. Burial will be at the White Oak Cemetery in Mahaska County, Iowa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, in the Bates Funeral Chapel from 5:00-7:00 pm with the family present to greet friends and family. Memorials may be made to: The Family. The family requests to friends and family attending to please wear purple in honor of Delia.
